A cage is important for your Moustache Parrot, there should be enough space for your bird to fly; a minimum size of 60x90cm is recommended. More importantly, is a playground or area for your bird to have freedom.

Moustaches should be out of their cage to stay friendly and at VBC we have a wide variety of stands and playgrounds available.

Moustache Parrot is native to the Himalayas and southern China, down to Indonesia. They are sweet, charming birds which are excellent for the entire family.

Moustache parrots are incredibly intelligent and enjoy a challenge. They are easy to train and are adequate talkers. They are medium-sized parrots that can grow up to 40 cm long and live between 20 and 25 years.

Their colours are mainly green with a dull pink patch on their chest. They have grey heads with black coloured feathers underneath the beak. Moustache Parrots also have black markings on the side of their face resembling a moustache.

Males are distinguishable by their bright red beaks, which is usually fully coloured by around 8 months old. Females have a slightly blue tinge to their head and have completely black beaks.
