Hahn’s Macaw Dietary Requirements
At Victorian Bird Company, our Hahn’s Macaws are fed a balanced diet consisting of:
40% tiny parrot seed, high-quality crumbles, and pellets
50% fruits and vegetables such as bananas, grapes, carrots, and bok choy
10% nuts and grains, including almonds
Fresh, clean water is essential at all times. Hahn’s Macaws living indoors require Vitamin D3 and Calcium supplements, and we use Avian Sunglo.

Breeding Hahn’s Macaws
Hahn’s Macaws reach sexual maturity at approximately 2–3 years of age. They typically breed during the warmer months of Summer and breed once per year.

A parrot-sized nest box measuring approximately 30 × 70 cm, lined with parrot nesting material, is suitable for breeding.

About the Hahn’s Macaw
The Hahn’s Macaw is native to South America, including Brazil and Venezuela. They are highly intelligent, curious, and gentle birds that are easy to train and sometimes train themselves.

Can live for more than 30 years
Males and females are visually indistinguishable. To determine sex with certainty, a DNA test is required.
