Hand Raised Pineapple Conures — $499–$699
We often have hand raised Pineapple Conures ranging from $499–$699.
Younger Pineapple Conures — from around $299
We also have young ones that are cheaper from around $299 each and can be tamed. They can be taught to talk and step onto your finger if you have dedication and perseverance.
Breeding Pairs — $300–$400 (with DNA certificates)
If you are more interested in breeding conures, we also have pairs specifically for breeding. These are $300–$400 and come with DNA certificates to prove they are genuine pairs ready to breed.
Pineapple Conure Characteristics
Pineapple Conures are native to South America and are most commonly found in Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay. They are confident, humorous birds who are easy-going and warm-hearted. They love to play, so a large variety of toys should be provided.
Conures are good-natured and excellent with children. They are easy to train and can learn several words. They grow about 25 cm and live up to 30 years.
Pineapple Conures have lime green feathers on their backs. Their chests are bright red with yellow sides. They have red tail feathers and a tan coloured head as well as lime green cheek patches. Males and females are identical, but both make excellent pets.

Breeding & Dietary Requirements
Breeding Pineapple Conures
Pineapple Conures are easy to breed. They breed 2–3 times a year between August and October. They reach maturity at 1 year old, with each clutch consisting of 4–6 eggs. The eggs hatch approximately 24 days later, and the chicks leave the nest at 6–7 weeks.
A cockatiel sized nest box lined with parrot nesting material available from VBC is suitable to use for breeding.
Pineapple Conure Diet (What We Feed at VBC)
At VBC our Pineapple Conures are fed small parrot seed, and we also provide a high-quality crumble for necessary protein and nutrients. All these requirements are sold in our store.
You should also offer your conure a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, such as carrots and broccoli, as they add vitamins to your parrot’s diet. Fresh, clean water is a must. Conures living indoors require a Vitamin D3 and Calcium supplement. At VBC we use ‘Sunglo’.
