Quaker Parrots Victoria
Looking for a pet Quaker Parrot to join your family? Then you have landed in the best place. Victorian Bird Co helps customers in the Melbourne and Geelong areas find their perfect match. We are in Hoppers Crossing, Ferntree Gully and Norlane, so drop in and meet them.
Meet our baby hand-reared Quakers in the video below and see how adorable they are.
Quakers have plenty of personality packed into a small parrot, but the way a young bird has been raised can shape how much handling and ongoing interaction it may need.
We help you understand the difference between fledglings, handled babies and hand-reared Quakers, along with seasonal availability and pricing considerations, so you can make a more informed choice for your experience and home.
Quaker Parrot Pricing (By Raising Type)
Prices listed on this page vary based on the bird’s stage, handling, and availability.
Quaker Parrots (Blue or Green)
Fledgling — from $299
(Blue or Green)
A fledgling is raised by its parents, is still a baby, but has left the nest and is flying in an aviary. These birds can be taught to talk; however, they are difficult to train unless you are highly experienced and dedicated.
Handled Baby — from $399
(Blue or Green)
A handled baby is fed by its parents, and when it’s a couple of weeks away from leaving the nest, we spend time handling it (around 15 minutes, 3–4 times per day) up until it fledges. Then the baby is taken inside the house and, with more human attention, becomes friendly. With this type of Quaker, constant handling is normally required to keep the bird perfectly tame.
Hand Reared Baby — $599–$899
(Blue or Green)
This is described on this page as the best way to invest in a baby companion pet for many kisses and cuddles.
Albino Quakers
$699–$1,500
Please enquire in-store for specific pricing and availability.
Availability note (season matters)
Another variable is the season and availability of babies. Off breeding season means there can be scarcity and the price may be higher.
Why Hand-Reared Quaker Babies Cost More
When you see a happy, confident hand-reared Quaker baby in our store, it’s the result of 6–8 weeks of dedicated care. From very early on they require specialised formula feeds, often five times a day, including early mornings and late nights. Every feed has to be the right temperature and consistency.
Beyond feeding, each bird needs daily handling and interaction so they grow up trusting people. As they grow, chicks must be carefully weaned onto solid foods, encouraged to perch, and supported through key development stages with constant attention to behaviour and health.
By the time a bird is ready to leave its hand rearer for a new home, it has already been fed, nurtured, socialised, and guided through its most important early stages. That’s why hand-reared birds represent great value—you’re taking home a bird that has been given the best possible start and is ready to bond with you.
Quaker Parrot Personality and Behaviour
Quaker parrots are described here as smart, inquisitive, fun-loving, and energetic. They love to play with their toys, swings, and bells, and can entertain themselves for hours practicing chirps, whistles, and human vocalizations. Both male and female Quaker parrots have an amazing capacity to imitate sounds and human speech.
