The Amazon parrot pricing breakdown below explains these options and what separates each stage, giving you a clearer starting point before deciding which bird may suit you.
Amazon Parrot Pricing
If you’re looking for an Amazon Parrot, we at Victorian Bird Co offer Hand-Reared Baby Birds from $1,799 to $2,499, depending on age, handling and current availability. Amazon Parrots are currently not available as Aviary birds. Check what’s available at Hoppers Crossing, Ferntree Gully or Geelong, or give our team a call before you visit.
Fledgling – from $1,199
A fledgling Amazon is raised by its parents and is still weaning. These birds can be more challenging to train, as they have not yet received extensive handling
Handled Baby – from $1,499
Handled babies receive 3–4 handling sessions daily during the fledging period. With continued daily interaction in their new home, they will remain tame and friendly.
Hand-Reared Baby – $1,799–$2,499
Hand-reared Amazon parrots are raised by our experienced team with scheduled feeding and daily handling from hatchling stage, supporting healthy growth and a calm, people-friendly temperament.
Availability
Another variable is the season and availability of babies. Eg off breeding season means that there is a scarcity and the price maybe higher.
About Amazon Parrots
There are more than 30 species of Amazon parrots, originating from Central and South America. Some species can live up to 80 years, while most pet Amazons live around 50 years with proper care. Their intelligence makes them easy to train, and they are known for being excellent talkers, capable of learning words and phrases. In Australia, two popular pet species are the Yellow-Fronted (Yellow-Crowned) Amazon and the Blue-Fronted Amazon.

Other Pet Parrot Alternatives
If an Amazon Parrot exceeds your budget, you may consider our super-tame birds starting at $399. These birds offer an affectionate option at a lower cost. Another alternative is a parent-raised baby bird for under $100. The price difference is due to the 6–8 weeks of hand-rearing required to raise a tame parrot. These alternatives provide a way to enjoy bird ownership while staying within your preferred price range.
